We have learned with sorrow that three of our Turkmen brothers were injured last night (May 31st) as a result of a bomb attack that was perpetrated against the Turkmens who have been holding peaceful demonstrations due to allegations of fraud concerning the election results in Kirkuk.

We condemn this heinous attack which was apparently organized by the instigation of some circles fed by the unrest and instability in Kirkuk. We expect the relevant Iraqi authorities bring the perpetrators of this attack to justice as soon as possible.

On this occasion, we once again emphasize the need for the transparent and expedited conclusion of the complaints about serious fraud allegations, particularly those in Kirkuk, which were also reflected in the UN statements and observer reports, in such a way that would satisfy the public.
