We have learned with sadness that a bomb attack took place today in Basra province in Iraq, as a result of which many people lost their lives and many were injured.

We condemn this heinous terrorist act and wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to the injured. We extend our condolences to the friendly and brotherly people and Government of Iraq.

Turkey will continue to stand in solidarity with the Iraqi people and Government in their fight against terrorism, irrespective of its origin.
